I saw this book of Helmut Newton Polaroids in the bookstore and just had to share. These are lovely.
I ran into Gary of Post Modern Tease the other day at Variety Coffee. They have the best coffee in the neighborhood by the way.
ran into this young lady on metropolitan avenue, actually walking her little sister somewhere. probably to get ice cream. it’s obvious she’s going to be larger than Patti Smith someday and need to write a memior.
Ran into these two this week and thought they were a nice contrast of classic and new looks. I dig their fun spirit and intense tats & accessories mixed with the clean and classic basics they are wearing.

People often ask me why I don’t photograph myself for this blog of mine, but I never do because I hate bloggers who post photos of themselves, and honestly, I’m not patient enough to compose a proper self portrait.
Recently, the universe forced me to slow down and breathe. Slow is not my natural state. I’m a sled dog: full time job, master’s thesis, photos, egoti.st and EBcult, and Brazilian Jujitsu. But a spinal injury changed all this, and the people around me have been kind enough to support and care for me, and take impromptu coffee breaks. You know who you are!
Point being, a funny by-product of being so scared by doctors, medications, and f’ing scalpels, I surrendered to dandyism — like an armor against my fear. I’ve only felt comfortable in suits recently, and people, and photographers, seem really stoked on it. So, as the spinal surgery went very well yesterday and the mend begins today, time to celebrate some rad photographers! Thanks Pablo, Mataeo, and Elizabeth!
Here are the photos by Pablo Ulpiano, Mataeo Park, and Elizabeth Waugh, for her 2013 book entitled “New God: Archetypes in a Wasteland.” I love Elizabeth’s work and am honored to be a part, however tiny, of her project. Enjoy!
